Well the end is in sight, or rather the mot is. This week has seen me add a new exhaust, as the one on it had been made up of 3 different systems plus it was crushed in places, so picked this one up off eBay. I was'nt expecting too much for the £80 I paid. But was very impressed when it arrived - made from thick gauge metal, and it fitted first time with no hassle
Would of preferred a slightly bigger tailpipe such as the puma one, but can live with how this one looks. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also added a black grill and headlamp surrounds along with the front bumper I got from another forum member ( cheers sako243 ) Click image to enlarge Then me and my dad bled the brakes - was was a straightforward job using the a gunson pressurised brake bleeder, plus i renewed the rusty looking jubilee clips in the engine bay (replacing that with stainless versions)and painted the radiator frame as well. Thanks, I do prefer the black grill over the previous sliver one. Not that many jobs left to do now - thankfully. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

lb73. What a great & thorough job you're doing, and doing it all yourself would be so rewarding apart from all the dollars you're saving.
A most informative thread. Good job, Pickles. |

Cheers Pickles, it is pretty rewarding doing the work especially if it goes right which however in my case is only a 50/50 chance
Also had a chance to make up some side steps as the orginal ones were badly flatten underneath, so I reused the brackets and welded a new tube to them. Painted them and added some non slip tape. Photos aren't great unfortunately but give an idea. Having had a few outgoings recently I've decided to stay with the boosts alloys for now. With not being too struck on the silver I reckoned black would go better with the green paintwork, it made my mind up when I saw a dark green 90 a couple of days ago that was running black boosts.
Anyway a trip to halfauds and a few hours later today I was left with this Click image to enlarge Pretty pleased considering it was a first attempt at spraying wheels, going to fit some 255 tyres on instead of the 235's I had on previously so hopefully they would look too bad when fitted - need to paint the centre cap though. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0 1972 VW Beetle 1200 2002 Dax Rush 3.9 V8 2012 Audi A3 tdi 2020 Renault Kangoo electric |

Thanks, happy I went with the black for the wheels as it goes well with the dark green. Anyway managed to get another two sprayed up , not quite as good a finish as the first two mainly down to being sprayed in the garage not outside on really warm day like the first two. I've put the centre caps on as well now though I scratched one whilst fitting it
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also managed to fit the actuators for the central locking kit I bought. Decided not to use the supplied brackets and fabricated something a bit more rigid of of some ally plate Click image to enlarge I've done the four side doors which will just leave the rear door, which I'll run the wires to but will leave for now as at some point later this year when funds allow I'll replace/ reskin and respray it. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0 1972 VW Beetle 1200 2002 Dax Rush 3.9 V8 2012 Audi A3 tdi 2020 Renault Kangoo electric |

great story !, I'm a bit of a tart, so I get mine done at a garage if it needs it ( but I do spend my life doing houses up) are you a mechanic by trade, or a fabricator, either way stonking job, and lovely truck.
