Nearly on the home straight with the loom, few bits to tidy up and it’s done. Housed the ecu in a waterproof box mounted to the washer bottle bracket
Click image to enlarge Will have to relocate the washer bottle , might put it lower down under the ecu. Also got the radiator/ intercooler mounted, had to fabricate some brackets up as it’s from a td5 but got it to fit in the end. Ideally could do with a new radiator grill surround as it was hacked about by the PO fitting the aftermarket 300tdi intercooler. Will mount the original radiator frame top as it will tidy the engine bay up a bit Click image to enlarge 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0 1972 VW Beetle 1200 2002 Dax Rush 3.9 V8 2012 Audi A3 tdi 2020 Renault Kangoo electric |

Very neat with the wiring and the waterproof box, doesn't look to out of place there Clayton.

Haven’t been able to spend to much time on the defender the last few weeks. The mot has ran out so I need to book that. Couple of minor jobs on the engine left to do like tidy the wires up etc. Ideally I need to get some miles on it to make sure it’s going to be reliable.
One thing I have done is ordered and fitted a new exhaust. I did alter the original mild steel one but is was to noisy for my liking. Anyway the engine kit came with a purpose built stainless down pipe. So I contacted Demand Engineering who made up a very nice mid and rear sections that virtually fell into place. I’ve since adjusted the rear hanger so there is now a bit more clearance between the tailpipe and the rear quarter than in the picture. Overall though very happy with how it looks and sounds. Nice work from them on that exhaust and good to go with SS
I was looking up at one of my customers quotes and came across that my SS has been on for 9 years now doesn't time fly Clayton. 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. |

Cheers Clayton, can’t beat stainless as a fit and forget option, just the initial cost is the only minus. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Yes as you say the cost does make you think though but i think that you do have to look at the cost over the long time period Clayton.

Yes, found out about him via one of the m57 Facebook groups. Easy to deal with, despite buying from him whilst he was moving workshops. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Pretty good actually. Performance wise it’s a massive improvement and like to be worked. No major issues yet, I do try not to be too aggressive on gear changes, but so far the gearbox is holding up well. One issue is that the engine occasionally can be sluggish starting when warm so I need to look into that. Plus I need to pipe up the air intake pipe properly. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0
