Like my dad.
And both my grandfathers.
Not very imaginative.

I had an electrical contracting business up here in Nidderdale/Wharfedale. Did quite well, specialising in barn conversions and large country properties. Decided, aged 56, in 2012 to retire, sold my 90HT work vehicle and bought myself a 911C2S. Sold that in '14 and bought the 110. Still retired but do a bit now and again, mainly maintainance in rental property I bought instead of putting funds into a pension company.

A bit of fly-fishing, a lot of cycling and a bit of tinkering with a '62 Lambretta, a '70 Suzuki trail bike and (new purchase, delivered next Mon) a BMW F650 GS Dakar.

Signalling engineer engineer on the railway, currently leading the engineering assurance on the Digital Rail Programme.

A far cry from what I set out as, a HGV and PSV mechanic!

Unfortunately now my role is desk based so I don't get out on to the infrastructure and I do miss that. The railway is a great engineering industry that is undersold, for example did you know Network Rail builds the highest numbers of bridges of any company in europe and likely the world?

Cheers

You brave Harry letting that out the bag your going to be inundated with requests for information Laughing

For me, I Currently do CNC machining at a Waterjet Cutting Firm in Kent.

Not too interesting but what we cut goes all over the place and goes into all sorts of things. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Unfortunately my lips are tightly sealed and I rather enjoy my job; plus my wife is due in less than 3 weeks; and would be good to come back to a job after paternity leave. I even kept the Velar's name from her till the announcement - that took some going. I am not personally working on it anyway and don't actually know anything about it. Probably safer that way, wouldn't want to be voicing opinions, as a traditional Defender fan, in front of the wrong programme director!
