This is turning out to be an amazing thread, so interesting to see what people do and all the varied walks of life we all come from but we all share a passion for Defenders. Perhaps at the the start I should have said what other job would you like to do if you werent doing your current job? I would like to have been ...... A police officer 2015 HT XS 90

Ah but if you look back in JLR's press releases a while ago, they explained that they were looking to split the Land Rover Brand into 3 distinct families - Range Rover, Discovery and Defender. So take what you will from that, RR has a family of 4, Disco a family of two and Defender is currently an unknown family size... |

Well, I spent far too many years working for vehicle manufacturers (Ford, then BMW Group) as a regional service guy and then in the IT area. Loved looking after IT for the production plants and afterwards for the sales and finance companies around the planet. There was a little pressure when a whole car plant is at a standstill thanks to computer issues of course! We gave up work early and are now off exploring by boat, living on board and enjoying every minute (with our 110 SW as dry land transport and mobile shed). Pic is off Tobermory

My job is usually difficult to describe, but having seen a few others on the thread that work in the water industry....
Im a Hydrometric engineer. I measure water, mostly flowrate, level & water quality. I also install and service flood warning weather monitoring and water related data logging equipment. In my spare time I do a bit of 4x4 tuition and water rescue instruction. Chris |

I work as a Contracts manager for a structural steel company, served my apprentiship with them and moved onto sites, then supervisor and now I'm their Appointed Person and Contracts manager.
These are a few examples of what we do, the top one being the lattice rafter on a football ground. We also build new Aldi's, car showrooms amongst other things. Working nationwide, we currently have work from Dundee to Basingstoke. I like to keep my hand in so still find myself on site some days helping the lads out, driving the arctic.
