Really!!!

Now please forgive me if I am showing my medical ignorance. I thought the majority of pregnancy occurs in a womb with about 1% ectopic pregnancies outside the womb.

Now I would have thought that having a set of ovaries, womb, vagina etc was a prerequisite of getting pregnant and were also the definition of womanhood?

Now how can an intersex man or trans man get pregnant?

Now I can imagine a woman gets pregnant and be wishing to be transgender to a man but how does stop her being a mother?

Now is this a case of PC being BS

Now I have just googled men getting pregnant and found this Not exactly my normal scientific source of knowledge!

What's next?

I can tell you what won't be next, and that will be the BBC refusing to stereotype " middle aged, middle class, grey haired old men."

Apparently they are the problem in so many areas - FIFA, Parliament, the workplace, or just walking down the street too slowly!

Perhaps the PC brigade could think of a long-winded description that doesn't make this group feel like an unwanted and despised minority?

But somehow I doubt it.....

Without trying to sound biased which is unavoidable and I'm certainly not against women in any way what so ever.
However, I do notice that they seem some of the biggest political perpetrators of kicking up trouble.

Especially number one around the 18 to 30 yr old group, closely followed by 30 - 50 year olds. Over that not so much at all.
That coupled with the quest of obtaining high status and this obsession with homosexuality and all this trans stuff and all that business.
(Amongst other things..)
Seems about the only thing the Labour party stands for too.....

Playing devil's advocate for a minute and not wanting to kick the hornets' nest, the people who tend to think these things don't matter tend to be the people who aren't on the receiving end of discrimination.

Maybe I'm just being a soft millennial. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

^^^^

In the context of the conversation, are you therefore suggesting that calling a pregnant woman a mother is in fact discrimination?

I understood that a mother was a pregnant woman who'd stopped being pregnant.

No.

“A large majority of people that have been pregnant or have given birth identify as women. We can include intersex men and transmen who may get pregnant by saying ‘pregnant people’ instead of ‘expectant mothers’”.

This refers to female to male transgender individuals who may have undergone some level of gender reassignment surgery yet are still able to have children.

Seriously, my immediate family has been on the receiving end of some pretty hideous abuse - physical and verbal - from other family members. Nothing good comes from making fun of others just for being different when a lot of the time there is nothing they would like more than to be "normal".

Sorry to come across as the thought police but if anyone else has had a similar experience, you'll know where I'm coming from.

Only came on this forum to talk about Land Rovers! Wasn't expecting it to get all Jeremy Vine in here! https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

So my wife, being pregnant now, is no longer a mother to our 4yr old daughter?
That's nice...

So then, you have a specific example of someone using the term "expectant mothers" as a form of abuse/mockery?

I was actually initially responding to custom90steve's post on the more general subject of "female troublemakers" and the causes they argue against.

If you were a doctor and this guy jumped up on the bed for a 12 week scan, you'd call him an "expectant mother"?

And it isn't talking about it being abusive/mocking but helps avoid embarrassment all round.

This isn't a new enforceable law, this is guidance. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews
