Looking good, interesting to see the sort of issues a CSW that age has bodywork wise as I will be looking for one in the new year. Out of interest, what sort of money did you pay for it & what is service history & mileage like please?

I had to deal with similar corrosion on my previous tdi. Same colour too!

Once I had finished I fitted rubber matting to the front of the rear wheel arches to stop it happening again.

Hope you can clean up the middle row seat belt floor fixings as they aren't cheap to get a new set.

Cheers, to be fair the chasss is pretty good, it's had a gav crossmember fitted as some point and a I've done the middle bolt on one, but the rest of it is just suffering from surface rust. The ali panels at the rear have suffered the worse with me needing to replace/ repair the rear tub inner arches, rear floor, front of the rear tub arches and the stepped panel that the middle seas attach to - all this because of a lack of inner wheel protection!
It cost 6k which considering what people seemed to currently ask is pretty reasonable, especially as I was looking at ones around the 8.5 mark. Unfortunately there was very little service history with it, but I wasn't to fussed about it as I intend to work through it to sort out any issues with my aim at the end to have a good, reliable vechicle that will only require a respray latter down the line when and if funds allow.

Scottm- the rubber matting is a certain to do, god knows why landrover didn't fit something as standard as the chassis is designed to catch and hold all the crude that the rear wheels chuck up. Fortunately though the seatbelt mounts faired pretty well considering,so a good clean up and a lick of paint and now there back on ready for a coat or two of underbody wax. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Done quiet a bit to it over the last few weeks in between Christmas, the rain, snow and dark nights.
Firstly the b pillar on the drivers side was looking a bit crusty so this was cut out and a new piece let in, didn't take any after photos but here's the during

Also rust treated the inside of the pillar and the body rail that it attaches to with dintrol while I was at it

Next on the list was to sort out the corroded ali above the rear wheels, in an ideal world I suppose a replacement tub/or inner wheels would have been the way to go however the budget is limited so I opted to repair them. So after cutting the damaged sections out I then made up some ali panels to fit underneath the arch between the supports, also cut out some pieces to fit in the holes i made while cutting the bad bits out, and then finally I made larger ali piece up to sit along the wheel arch inside the vechicle. All these were then etch primed and sprayed black, primed were pu adhesive primer, before being sikaflex pu bonded/ and sealed riveted together.

Also have been cleaning and rust treating the rear of chassis with dintrol, have got as far forward as the front of the rear doors. The amount of dried on crud was pretty impressive, have also sprayed it with dintrol ml, so it only leaves the black body wax to go on when I get chance.
The door panels have been taken off as well as I was pretty keen to see how much work they needed - and they didn't disappoint Laughing 3 of the 4 bottom frames need some sort of work with the welder. So I ordered a repair channel from YRM.
Another YRM purchase was the later style gav middle crossmember that was suitable for the later puma style middle row seats. With this in place I was able to permanently attach the upstand and repair panels that sit in front of the rear arches and mate upto the floor. Getting in the rear seats was a job in itself due to the weight of the double one but it felt like a real accomplishment to see them in and firmly in place, just need to order the striker place brackets that attach to the chassis then the floor can be permanently put back in. Along with the brackets that attach to the front of the rear arch that the seat rests on.

Next on the to do list is continuing with clean up of the chassis, repair a hole I found in the drivers side footwell against the a pillar Big Cry . Then I think I tackle the doors. Shocked 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Thanks Thumbs Up

Gave the rear half of the chassis another coat of dintrol body wax prior to putting the rear floor in permanently. Before doing that though I fitted the chassis brackets for the rear seat striker plate. These were pretty expensive - nearly £90 for the two but the were genuine Land Rover and to be fair they are pretty robustly made.

Before the floor went in I etch primed and sprayed it black on the underneath so at least it matched in with the rest of the chassis. I also thought it might be useful to have an access hole to the top of the fuel tank where the pipes attach so I sorted that as well.

Ran a seam of pu adhesive/ sealant around the edge and pop riveted it in place. At least with the floor back in place I can drop the rear seats in place along with the second row floor panel. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Cheers both, thought the access hole might save having to drop the tank - not easy by yourself. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0

Saw a bit of 110 action this weekend Very Happy . First off I finished applying the dintrol body wax to to rear axle/suspension. Found an eBay seller who sells the dintrol cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere. So chassis wise it's all done upto the back of the front seats. The only thing left to paint etc on the rear is the brake calipers and discs which like the rest of the chassis are a bit crusty but should clean up ok. Managed to remove the passenger side one no thanks to the rounded off caliper bolts, which will definitely be replaced. Cleaned it off and gave it a treatment of rc800 and left it to dry

While the weather was dry I decided to make a start on the door frames. I started on the drivers side rear passenger door then moved onto the drivers door. So this what came off

And this is what I was left with at the end of today

Photos aren't the best admittedly but in the flesh they don't look to bad especially when given a top coat of green. Need to finish off the drivers door in the opposite corner then I'll add some sealant between the steel and the ali body panel - had already painted both surfaces prior to welding the box section in place. Already done the paint and sealant on the 2nd row door so that needs the glass putting back in and a dousing of dintrol ml and it's sorted.

Thanks, it was nice and dry when I started but as soon as the paint came out so did the the rain, hence why it's still in primer. 1999 300TDI 110 CSW BMW 3.0
