Best of luck, hope you get sorted but just in case the noise is a major issue I would check my rights for rejection and make sure you don't do anything to limit them.

Having said that, bought wife a SEAT Altea Freetrack 4 some years back and when we got it home it made a hell of a noise. Checked rights to reject, took it back ready to throw it at them, they lifted it up and looked underneath and there was a big stone caught and was rattling in/near the brakes somewhere. As they looked it fell out and the car has been fine since so hope your problem can be solved just as easy.

Looks like a cracking Def so fingers crossed it will be back and you are enjoying it soon.

Second what Daviec1 has said.

Hope it sorts itself to your satisfaction

Edit : Every second hand XS I've ever looked at has leather gear/transfer lever knobs, so reckon it's a factory standard fit

Mine hasn't, it's got rubber ones and so did the last one? Has anyone got a photo of said leather lever etc?

Thanks

Boy

For what it's worth, I had my first 110 replaced by Land Rover due to numerous bodywork issues and mechanical problems within the first month. The replacement vehicle has had a few niggles, mainly the clutch, but I am very pleased with it. Done 11,000 miles now and I am glad I stood my ground and got the original replaced.

Hope your problems are sorted one way or another.

Not good, sorry to hear about all this Sad

I wouldn't let any monkeys go anywhere my vehicle with a drill, they just don't care Shocked . Do it yourself properly the second time. I bet they won't paint the bare metal of the old holes to stop them rusting and I bet they won't seal them properly - probably just pinch a bit of dum dum from somewhere else. When they drill the new holes will they paint the metal and seal the screws......they will just start rusting otherwise Sad

The best option is always do anywork you can yourself. If you can't, make sure the dealer is a good one or find a good independent (independents are usually more contientious as they survive on their reputation, lads employed in a worskhop on a wage havn't the same motivation a lot of the time!)

Hope they get it sorted but I would be rejecting it. They've messed up the A post, god knows what the noise is and what damage is being done and what more fiddling they are going to do to try and fix it. I would really not want to let someelse drive it back to the dealership, how are they going to drive - great fun new car lets burn it up..........No Thanks. Surely it should be transported back with the noise anyway.

Reject it and start again with a decent one. You may have to wait but this one will probably be in the workshops for a while anyway.

I would be bloody furious and looking at compensation or courtesy car for some of the waiting period until a new one arrives..... Evil or Very Mad

Nothing like a dealer cocking up the options, fitting the wrong ones or in the wrong place. Really takes the shine off a new motor for ya don't it?

Once it's drilled it's drilled. Hope you get your issues sorted pronto and in the meantime I'd play merry hell up matey starting with LR Customer Services.

You mean, they all DON'T fit like that!?

If that's the final position then they are shaped wrong.

I despair. D300 HSE 110

Hate to read things like this. Best of luck with sorting it out......don't be afraid to reject the car if it is the right thing to do.

Bad luck, but keep on at them. If they refit your RAI, they'll also be drilling two more holes so close to the old ones that they may cause a real weakness. Watch out for it. The easiest time to get them to sort stuff out is at the very start of ownership.

Congratulations otherwise and really enjoy her (when they've sorted out the stuff). Perhaps make them redo the PDI properly. Certainly make an issue of ti all with LR Customer Services. They're quite good at sorting things out and are good at throwing freebies at you in compensation.

Just clarify are these Mantec and do they really all fit like this. I suppose as long as it is sealed where it should be it's OK as maybe you wouldn't want the whole body of the snorkel resting/rubbing on your paint work!

To clarify, I certainly do not think that the snorkels should fit like that. It's set too high and needs to rest on the wing. I'll snap ours later and post the pic.

Just spoken to Mantec who say there is a small gap....what is small, difficult to say without measuring and comparing!! They say as long as it is fitted as per instructions it will be OK.
