Out last night shooting rabbits at our local Safari Park. Left them at the office for the tigers, they can't get enough of that canine delicacy apparently. No lead was used. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

What were you using to shoot the rabbits?

A happy guest from Norway! He shot well and had a brilliant day including the obligatory hangover the following day!

I feel obliged to contribute to this thread given my forum name... I haven't been doing much shooting recently, work seem to have got in the way and I seem to be playing catch up the rest of the time.

Had my first shotgun & certificate almost 15 years ago now when I was just about to turn 14. Our builder and family friend, a Welsh Champion several times over, taught me to shoot. First year was club shooting, second was local leagues, third was onto county level and fourth moved onto doing Welsh selections. Had the opportunity to go and shoot the Worlds in 2009 which although was expensive was well worth it. One week in Houston at a fundraising shoot, second week at the Worlds and then four days in Manhattan on the way back. Went to university and took part and ran the shooting club there. The kindly funded me to get qualified as a clay shooting coach.

Since graduating and particularly since getting Lyra I've been trying to do a bit more game shooting and actually just enjoying working her a bit on a reasonably local pheasant shoot in Portsmouth. Take the odd trip up to my grandmothers and do a bit of deer stalking up there when I get the chance, slightly downside of a 14h drive to get there...

Anyway - enough waffling, Lyra's first "retrieve" at 2 months and then having some fun with her first pheasant in the garden when we got back from beating.

About 3 and a half and fingers crossed, in whelp. Going to be a busy Christmas, she's due on Christmas Eve...
Favourite photo of her:

stunning photo, good to have a trusty companion! My little cocker is only 14 odd months old but took him out on the peg on Saturday to soak up some atmosphere, getting him ready for next season.

Was a wet day, Bit of a quite last drive but 2 out of 3 opportunities isn't too bad, great condition cock birds.

Great to see the little ones getting stuck in, having a competition with his older brother up ahead who could carry the most. Had to give him a hand without his brother seeing a bit further up ahead Laughing

Keen countryman here (despite growing up in Watford).

I shoot most disciplines, always happy to chat or meet up in and around North Herts. Shotgun and firearms, so lamping, deer, boar, game, clays and target etc.. Not much I haven't done (probably why i'm so bad)

2 young babies on the go at the moment so getting out regularly is sometimes an issue, but try at least once a month if only clays locally. Happy to meet up, or even introduce newbies into the sport. Many contacts, so if I can't help directly, I can deffo push you in the right direction. TD5 Defender 90

Old girl. Picture taken last season when she was 11. She only started coming shooting when she was 5 and certainly wasn't the most polished dog in the field but we had some great times. Thinking about it mostly she had fun and I blew the whistle and shouted a lot. The vet confirmed today she has tumours on her kidneys and a week or so left. It is bloody hard typing through tears.

Know exactly how you feel - I'm holding back tears whilst writing this too !
Our Poppy will be waiting up there - tell him she's the blonde one, just sitting and sniffing the air on sentry duty !
