My passenger door appears to suffer with the temperature RoddyK05 - I thought it was just me
My wife (the main user of said door) said that it only happens when the temperature drops and I think she's right. Both my striker plates are relatively new (and have the nylon bush in tact) and they close perfectly in the warmer weather I look forward to reading any suggested remedies |

I found the answer to this and Geobloke did a nice write up over on Land Rover UK Forums:-
http://forum.landrovernet.com/content.php/...How-to-Fix Probably worth making this a sticky as it's such a common problem as we approach colder climes... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Good man Dave and thank you
I shall look at that over the weekend and report back if I cure it! If it works I'll claim all the credit with the missus Cheers, Will |

Fantastic, I'll be giving that a go at the weekend - although I would have said mines were pretty clean, but a proper clean and re-grease can't do any harm at all. Here's hoping.

I'll be giving this a go as the cold weather door gremlins have started. |

Try X Engineering replacement latches. The useless/soon damaged nylon bush is gone and the latch is much less likely to rip your jeans or trousers!
http://foundry4x4.co.uk/index.php?route=pr...duct_id=68 Adjustment is easy and my 110 TD5 doors now close with a gentle push! |

Just done mine. Completely bunged up with accumulated spray grease, dirt, dust, dog hair etc. Now clean as a whistle. I lubricated them again with PTFE dry lubricant in the hope they won't accumulate the grime again as quickly, but we shall see. Certainly sound a lot better and passenger door now seems to be closing, so will see how it goes over the coming weeks. Thanks to nosnibod and Geobloke for the advice 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Down to Halfords today for brake cleaner and white scooshy grease. Done in no time, it seems to be better but I await a drop in the temperature again for the acid test. It can't fail to have made a difference, hopefully that's it for a while. As others have said, thanks a lot for the link, it shows just how good forums like this are when people need a wee helping hand.
