TD5 Wipers stay on.
    I have 2000 TD5 and wipers come on with ignition and will not turn off. Have tried another switch unit on steering column with no success. Have removed fuse and wired in a switch as a temporary measure. Any suggestions please.

    I think this is a strange one. The park switch will normally make it stop directly after switching the wipers off so the wipers don't go to the parking position.

    I might be the park switch but It would be my first guess. I think it is a wire problem if you already changed the switch unit.

    But I could be wrong and it isn't the first time. Twisted Evil Roel

    I have seen this happen with a failed park switch in the past, the contacts which drive the motor to the park position after the stalk switch has been set to 'off' are failing to open, so the 'park' feed is permanently live.

    If the plastic cam follower peg that is pushed by the cam on the gearwheel to open the contacts has worn excessively it can cause this effect, or if the contacts themselves are faulty, or the switch is simply full of crud.

    I have a similar problem with mine it starts and turns off in a random position, the timed position works likes it on.

    My problem started when someone disconected all the wires behind the switch and then "try" to connect them in the right position. Augusto
