Main beam cable location
Hi does anyone know the relay and colour of the wire for the main beam as I'm trying to locate it within the cab to connect to the relay for my new spots. Very Happy

Can't comment on relay but if pretty sure it's blue with white tracer.
Be sure to check though. Idea No Guts, No Glory.

Yup, blue with white in my TD5

Unless they updated it for the puma, there are no relays, all the current runs through the switch. Which is why it fails!

easiest location to tap into it I found was in the engine bay, left hand side, next to the bulkhead there is quite a large plug, and like others have said there is no relay and the wire colour is blue with white trace.

You can always disconnect the plug and check with a milti-meter though.

This is the linky I used: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic11570....ght+wiring

In conjunction with the instructions from Land Rover for the standard kit...which I put in my gallery here:
https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...ctions.pdf

Basically (as Roy & Miker say)...most people splice into the wire under the bonnet. Here:

and here:

Note: The LR kit shows taking the main beam feed from near the stalk in the steering column... But doing it under the bonnet seems much easier Thumbs Up

Thanks "The Boy" (who I have not seen posting on here for ages)

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green  Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
