The lubricant in the swivel housing is a semi fluid grease that is dark grey in colour, small amounts of this can migrate into the front diff housing despite there being a seal present. Hence the difference in the colour compared to the rear. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Whats the scheme called run by Land Rover where you sign up and get a discount for your service on vehicles outside of warranty? Cannot recall it offhand and I must sign up for it. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It's Land Rover Allegiance Sudfan, although I have found that you can get the same discount levels just by asking

I'm glad I live where I do, and my closest dealer is so good.
Can't remember exactly how much it was, but the 2nd service in my 2.2 90 SW was definitely less than £500. No messing about haggling, or playing off against other dealerships, so once again, a big thumbs up for Duckworths Market Rasen. I really can't fault the dealership, spot on. |
