Hi yes the Front diff oil was really black and smelly. The rear looked ok as did the transfer and gear box oils.I have no idea why the front diff oil should go bad so quickly. But it only takes 10 minutes the change so no worries.

The lubricant in the swivel housing is a semi fluid grease that is dark grey in colour, small amounts of this can migrate into the front diff housing despite there being a seal present. Hence the difference in the colour compared to the rear. Steve.

Some of you chaps need to go in and sort your dealers out with those prices I have had an A service on the 130 this week and a B service on the D4 all in £680

Dropped my car off this morning for second service.
had been quoted £546.00 was told on booking it in that the price was £810.00 told them it is £546 or the cars coming home and I'll take it somewhere else. They agreed to do it for £546.00 Not a happy camper this morning |

Whats the scheme called run by Land Rover where you sign up and get a discount for your service on vehicles outside of warranty? Cannot recall it offhand and I must sign up for it. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It's Land Rover Allegiance Sudfan, although I have found that you can get the same discount levels just by asking 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

I'm glad I live where I do, and my closest dealer is so good.
Can't remember exactly how much it was, but the 2nd service in my 2.2 90 SW was definitely less than £500. No messing about haggling, or playing off against other dealerships, so once again, a big thumbs up for Duckworths Market Rasen. I really can't fault the dealership, spot on. |
