so 33" rims, add 10% to the mileage and that brings you upto 22mpg then? still bad though. i would have thought you should get 25/26 with a 110 and roof rack top speed 60 etc etc. TJ101 got that from his with a roof tent fitted.

Does yours do alot of idling or town driving? the ones i have used that idle alot or work alot using low down grunt seem to drink it for a fashion. Cheers

I drove to Birmingham (jun 2 M42) the other day on the stock tyres, I stuck to about 60mph all the way there and all the way back. I live 2 mile off the A45 and I went to a place 3 miles off jun 2 on the M42. I drove like a granny and had good traffic all the way. I filled the tank on the way out and refilled it when I got back. I got 23.2 mpg. my last 110 would have got 28/29 with the Brownschurch (with one piece 3mm alloy floor) on the roof if I had driven in that.

555 miles on a tank full.

>27mpg - thats assuming I got 70 litres out of the tank which it was probably less, plus the 20 ltrs home brew.
when you consider a far amount of that is local pottering about and commuting into B'ham centre then having Miss Daisy in the back certainly appears to help compared to some of you with heavy boots and low mpg.

well first fill on mine, was showing over half full but Shell had 103.9 a litre so thought i would anyway. 29.69l for 167.4miles i make 25.6pmg which is ok for a 110 bedding in...... (i hope)

edited to add its better than the 2.8 TGV 90 auto which did 21mpg on the last fill! Cheers

But that was on a nice steady run round Spain and Portugal,, Patriot rack similar to your Boy !!

Mine has always been poor,, now on 8000 miles, most have been local running round, towing etc, and been in the 19 to 21 range,,

Even when JST has borrowed it, he could only get ?? what 21 ish ??

Did a trip to the Peak distract the other weekend, about 170 mile of lanes both on and off road etc, and 40 miles 70mph motorway, and returned just under the 25 overall,, its not moved since it was filled for the trip back,, all motorway, again at 70,, so will top up tonight and check again California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Well mine brokedown agian tonight on the way home form work. Did what it always does (see my other posts) but I did get home at 15mph on "get you home mode". As this time i was running Petes tune I put the original one back on and when I restarted the car it was fine and the fault was cleared.

365 miles and the light came on. another 20 miles and I'm putting 66 ltrs back in to fill up......

so what does that equate to......

26.5 mpg....not quite as good as my Citreon Picasso which managed 73mpg on one tank. Been running it on 100% bio diesel since and the economy has dropped but not nearly as much as the cost of the fuel.

Been getting the same thing as you but my get me home mode is 30 mph when it dose this have you try pulling over switching off engine then after 30 sec start up again the engine light stays on but the fault is cleared so it will still drive to max speed

I also have a remap from Pete on the 3rd time of doing the fault. Set back to factory then waited till it done it again went to deals and got them to check it out found to be the fuel pressure valve got it done yesterday seems to run quieter know than before will give it a week then reinstall the remap and see how it runs

As for mpg averaging around the 27 but on long run motorway driving down to 24 mpg! best i have got is 29mpg would like to get 30 mpg then i would be happy as that's what my td5 did.

Dave - mine's very similar to yours - can't quite get to 30 on local trips and down to 25 on long m'way trips, especially if there's a headwind - it really does make a difference. So far, a bit worse than my old Td5 (30 and 27), which is disappointing, especially considering the difference in revs at 70mph.

I too have suffered from the engine going into crazed rattle mode. Always occurs during change-up whilst declutched. If you engage the clutch in time, it recovers. If you leave it to sort itself out, the yellow engine light comes on and you're in limp mode. Only happened to that degree once and I pulled over and restarted - yellow light still, but all running ok. Next time I started up, no yellow light, but the dealers were able to trace the fault and replaced the fuel pressure valve. I'd say it was slightly noisier after that and the problem's still there, so I'll keep you posted Mines in factory map at the moment. 1953 80
