To give you an idea of the slope, take a look at the water container under the trailer Shocked

Thats a pretty serious slope to try and sleep on Shocked Inside the trailer with feet on the headboard?

First night was a nightmare in the awning on campbeds and nylon sleeping bags both the boy and I were a little peeved at sliding down, the Saturday night I hit on the idea of hooking the hood part of the mummy sleeping bags over the ends of the campbeds. Solved the problem a lot, we just ended up in a heap at the bottom of the bags instead of on the floor.

Picked up our new caravan - only second time I have towed with this defender - excellent

Looks identical to my parents new one. Does it have the bathroom at the back and the big double bed in the middle?

Very nice looking truck too Thumbs Up

Thank you Thumbs Up

Actual a very different layout to what we have ever had before with a double bed at the back & bathroom in the middle

My wife just fell in love with the van the moment we went in it 2020 P300 HSE

Drove to Samoens to support friends on the Etape, as they hit the lower slopes of the Joux Plaine, considered by some to be the toughest climb (albeit rarely used) in the TdF and where Armstrong famously bonked and announced after that it was the toughest day of his life, in a saddle. Happy to say all friends who entered completed the Etape, so we'll done them.

Well done indeed.
Was hard enough doing the Etape Caledonia, let alone the Etape du Tour!

Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
Had the low fuel chime ping once and the yellow light come on just when I was at our local BP station. That was at least 4 months ago that this had happened. Laughing
Filled it up with a dose of STP diesel system cleaner and then BP Ultimate diesel, 59 liters until the first click.
Paid a visit to our local dealer Autobritt, made an appointment for a date late in August for the 6 months oil service/maintenance plus a full engine and chassis clean and shine (as if the latter would be necy in my case Rolling Eyes ), but have to do this as I just received the letter in the mail with the invitation for the bi-annual Swiss MOT equivalent, and those gents want a spic and span clean truck to inspect.
Oh, while I was there, a gent with a Jag with diplomatic plates offered to buy my SVX. Told him that he should look on autoscout.ch, still plenty new Heritage, Autobiography, Adventure editions on offer... Yes, he knew, but they are so expensive now..... Told him that those are still cheaper than my SVX today. Cool Off he went in his Jag. Laughing
Truck is now back in underground storage as we may get some rain tonight and tomorrow before the next batch of +30°C sunny weather returns, forecasted as of this weekend. Thumbs Up
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Went for a late evening drive around Chatsworth, loved the piece and quiet. Made the most of the last of the daylight.

Very easy to fit mate took me about 3/4 of an hour but I was fiddling with other things too.easy to set up ..and I have to say the difference is impressive indeed.i change the gear box oil while I was messing about ,it took a tad getting used to you don't have to move the stick half as much as I did before so I'm happy with it .

Got the tow bar remounted and the trailer electrics after painting the x-member. New bolts for the tow setup using 8.8 BZP
