Thanks guys.
We have hired a cottage up in the Mournes for the weekend and its just stunning. No better place to chill plus the defender is right at home sitting here. Sorry to hear of your loss Andy, I lost my grandad just before his 96th birthday earlier this year so can understand the heartache you must be going through

Hope you are getting on ok Clayton.
I turned my attention back to the defender today for some therapy! Wasn't long until I was fecking and blinding at the spinning rivnuts! so I now have a defender airfix strapped to the garage wall lol. Love the the airfix parts attached to the wall, really good, well, for me its been very hard, we were very close, i still get "moments" its getting a little bit easier, the only way i can explain, sorry to be blunt, its like having a part of your body cut off. Hope your getting on ok, sounds you are on the landy front Andy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Heading to my mate bodyshop now to get lots done. Plastic welding the original grille for the zunsport, welding up the light guard holes and headlamp grille holes for the twisted sides and horn grille inserts. Then fitting the twisted gloss drl bumper.

Things are going well... All the holes from the front light guards, rear ladder, RAI have been welded up. For the twisted front bezels you also need to the weld up and fill the little slot below the head lights. The front grille has also been plastic welded. I couldnt get my hands on the twisted horn inserts and bezels without taking the plain zunsport grille as part of the kit so i will have 2, one with lazers and one without to try. Also had the dent guys take out 10 dings on the roof (previus owner must have been on a driving range lol). Bulkhead brackets had also started to corrode but made more sense to have my mate sort these now than go to the dealer for a warrnaty claim. Cant wait to get it back togther.

Zunsport /Laser grille arrived today, solid and well made stuff.
Click image to enlarge Also stripped and re arranged the cubby switches before I send everything to OEM landrover for the retrim. Just moved the hazard into the cup holder, removed the blue sea for the winch as its gone, and put the 3 gangs side by side. Do I recall you "blacking" the stitching on something in the past?
Want to "white" the stitch on a lid I got, any ideas if it is possible? |

Ha forgot clean about it mate! I just need to 'refine' the prototype. Although mine have worked since installed i was to tweak the design. Did you buy old motors and new bearmach ones? Andy

Bought old Disco 2 motors the evening I read your install. I have also got some extra window switches and made up the surrounds from an old centre console I cut up for the triple and hazard switch holders.
