It's not something to do with the fact it's not low sulfur diesel?

You get this sometimes with bio-diesel, particularly when blended with a not so light gas oil. If it feels like oil when rubbed between your fingers and it dries into a wax like substance then it is most likely this and is nothing to worry about unless you are running this all the time. However if it feels like water then it could be coolant but I really hope it is not this as only explanation would be cracked cylinder head allowing coolant into exhaust (but this would have a host of other symptoms also of course)
Hope this helps. My 10th Land Rover, but my first Defender. |

Beautiful! Especially that picture captioned "Pontic Mountains". May I ask which roof tent you're using? 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

My tent is Arb Simpson II. Now they sell 3rd generation with some improvements.
I do not know if it is fixed in the III, two most annoying issues with mine are: - noise while camping in strong winds, few times I had to fold it in the middle of the night and hide in the cabin. Same time friend of mine with pop -up roof tent slept in his tent with no noise problems - sealing at the hinges and back corners - there are holes in these areas through which mosquitos can go (and they do). I try to seal it with sponges but it does not always work. Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

Thanks, it looks quite nice. the Simpson III is very expensive in the uk and I haven't found any Simpson II tents. Might have a look again when I get round to buying a roof tent
