Scangauge Question
I have a Scangauge II plugged in but to do so I had to disconnect the OBD socket from it's holder in the fuse bay below the steering wheel, and feed it into the Speaker bay alongside to plu the Scangauge plug in as you cannot close the Fuse bay cover otherwise.

I want to make a new plug using the pcb board from another OBD plug, but am unable to determine which coloured wires go to which pins as the wires on the original Scangauge lead are embedded in resin. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Scangauge lead that shows which colour goes to which pin on the OBD Plug??

Any help much appreciated Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

This would allow the OBD socket to remain in it's proper position, the New plug could then be easily removed when the Land Rover Dealer has to plug in to the Diagnostics to update software etc:

Wasn't there a post on the tech section?

Also why run it through the speaker why not through the other side? Mike

Meant to say that all I did was feed the cable down behind the dash fit the obd plug then undo the torx screw and push the socket and plug into the fusebox. Put the cover back on and it only bulges slightly. Only pain is that the screw has to go back in before unplugging the scangauge to allow the nanocom to be plugged in Rolling Eyes

Because the only place you can get access to it is through the speaker side Thumbs Up NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Firstly, to mse, it doesn't matter which side you run it through, if using the original scangauge plug then you have to re-locate the OBD socket if you want the Fuse cover to close.

Secondly, to Lorryman100, I had seen that thread and was waiting for any developments as regards Shax's pdf file, but his PC problems don't seem to have been resolved, and I have all the bits ready and was itching to have a go. Cut the plastic cover off the Scangauge plug today and found the wires embedded in a resin block and cannot see which ones are soldered to which pin. Just wondered if anyone had done a similar job and would know the colour coding/pin number.

I haven't seen the other post but I am guessing you are trying to make it so that the Scangauge doesn't take up the only OBD port therefore having to take the speaker out every time?

If so:

If not....... Ner Ner

Thanks Glyn,

Have also ordered the splitter cable. I also had a second cable for the Scangauge - useful for using the gauge on another vehicle without having to remove the original wiring each time.

Anyway. Problem now solved thanks to Glyn. Bow down Thumbs Up

Scangauge is Read-Only, and anyway you can disconnect the lead from the back of the Display so the lead is not connected. That enables the Land Rover dealer to connect his Diagnostic computer easily, without the problem of having to remove the Speaker to disconnect the Scangauge OBD plug from the vehicles OBD socket, in case the Dealer has problems finding the socket in it's new position.
