I've not got a puma manual in front of me at the moment,
But, you'll need to pull the rear washer switch out of the dash. get a voltmeter and find the 12v which becomes live when you push the button. You'll then need to pull the washer switch out of the dash, and meter the 12v feed to the motor when you press the button. So, once you've found that, you'll need to connect both of these together. however i'd have thought that a diode would be needed inbetween both switches, otherwise you'll get feedback when you turn the rear wiper on... the washer will run all the time too! |

Thanks DJ. Just found this after a bit of a root about and it shows a method of wiring the washers in. Click image to enlarge All credits to Barny Rubble |

Old post I know, just bought a 99 relay. Just to clarify - so after I've set the delay and it's wiping with that delay, if I then turn it off and then back on again (in less than 6 sec) will it come back using the previous delay, or the new delay between single wipes? And also does just popping the stalk down the first time (no delay set yet) put it on the normal delay as usual? Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

It's seems my question has been answered already. Would you happen to have a diagram for wiring or is it simply wrote in before the original relay?

Sorry for dragging up an old thread.
I did the "99 relay mod" today to my 08 TDCi. Click image to enlarge Works great, can program it and all functions work etc. However, I had to remove it and replace with the original red relay, because once the engine was running the battery light on the gauge binnacle stays on and doesn't go out. Any ideas on why this would be?! Pete 2010 Discovery 4 GS TDV6 1972 Series III 88" 2.25P |

Silly question, sorry, but should you disconnect the battery to swap the relay?

No need to disconnect battery to fit the relay, might be best to have the ignition off though

one of the most useful mod's I've done........... especially this year although mostly my wipers have been on continuous rather than using this groovy feature

A great mod thats cheap (unlike so many of my other plans) and simple to do. Only down point was its the first time I've had the instrument housing off and turns out the previous owner has snapped off the RHS lower fixing leg. So its one job ticked off and one added 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)
