Is this right/normal??
Have owned my 200tdi for over a year now and the poor thing has only just had the temp gauge fixed.

On my way home tonight (first time I have driven it with it working) it went to the top of the white bit ...

Is this where it should sit for normal operating temp??

Cheers

Thanks Martin.

So the fact it didn't go into the red isn't necessarily a good thing? My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years.

Have you got an electric fan fitted replacing the viscous fan? If so the temp gauge can rise almost to the red then the electric fan kicks in. Jeff

i believe there are different senders/gauges and that you need a matched pair 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

If it's a vehicle that's been converted with a Disco 200Tdi then it could be mismatched sender as above.

Does the guage go up when lights and heater turned on? If yes it's an earth issue.
If it sits high but won't go into red then could be as mentioned the gauge and sender don't match.
My 200 sat just off the red never over heated ran perfect for 10's ooo's officials miles even towing.
I replaced everything rad ( it was rotten) hoses, head ( cracked ) fan , sender , guage and ended up just living
With it. Have fun be happy

I have changed everything…..even thermostat to oil cooler….
The temp stays in center until going above 50 mph…then it goes to end of the white…
Wiring is ok..

Hi Tompoole,

No it sits still when the engine is started then slowly climbs up to that point in the picture.

I guess it's a mismatched gauge & sender as you suggest.

When I get into work I will get the engine number checked out to see what I have and change what's needed.

Or, knowing me, I will just live with it!! Rolling Eyes
