I will report back!
You are certainly correct in saying most of the noise comes from the rear... I will ask SWMBO to sit in the front next time! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Hi all,
one of the big things I've been wanting to get done since R2 arrived covered in surface rust, and to stop my sleepless nights thinking I can hear the truck rusting away while I doze is finally done! I very happy with the results It was apparently quite a process as I opted for the extreme package they generally reserved for full time beach patrol vehicles and mining vehicles, but R2 is a keeper so went for it. First the standard steam clean and then the first coat of epoxy 2Pac paint in grey. Then the second coat in back (they use different colours so if you scratch up the first layer then you can easily identify the area that needs a touch up coat because you will see the grey come through). Then the black rust inhibitor which is a thick consistency and has great sound proofing qualities (very noticeable and the 3rd and final phase to my sound, noise & vibration reduction project - still have some more Dynamat application to go though ). Then caramel coloured, grease like consistency, wax based rust inhibitor in every nook and cranny you can poke a stick at. They even took off all my protection gear and 2Pac'ed that as well Plus really happy the already badly faded rear cross-member turned out so nice! Had them mount some other gear while the truck was on the hoist also. A Nugget Stuff rear recovery hitch for pulling lesser vehicles out of trouble when I hit the islands. And more heavy metal protection in the event I somehow get rear ended And a set of Gwyn Lewis mud guards. Not that happy with these as three flap about but that could be the fault of the rust proofer. Also took a snap of the Nugget Stuff Defender sealed airbox system (much larger diameter pipe than stock!). Cheers, Ant. Unfortunately due to a very bright afternoon here the photo's don't come close at all to showing just how incredibly black this stuff is. I'll try to get some better ones. |

Well I figured he wouldn't be a proper R2 unit without the appropriate splash of colour, so went for blue recovery gear

Hey Pete, that's a shot of the upper angled section of the footwell and then the bulkhead on the passenger side just under the dash mate. Hope that makes sense
