Romadog, the heated mirrors with indicator lamp you mention there.... Are those the ones from Landreiziger in the Netherlands which you have bought? I mean the ones in below picture. If so, how do you find the quality of them? Asking, because someone on here once said that Landreiziger buys as a base for the conversion a complete rearview mirror from a certain UK after market supplier, and that the quality of those is only so so. Forgot who it was frankly. I am interested to install these Landreiziger door mirrors with indicator leds too, so always interested to hear more about your installation experience. Picture of what I refer to is below. Eric Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. Ah thank you was searching on Google last night for that pic, but simple details didnt seem to help find it !!
Yes these are the ones. They look ok, cleaner than the ones they will replace, which have Mud Uk heaters in them. NB. No problem with MUD UK ones what so ever except that the drilling and wire routing has been done on the Landreiziger, which also has a small LED indicator, that is very bright. Plenty of wire to go through door seal/seam or just enough to go under bonnet and through bulkhead as I have done. Extensions wires are used for joining to original loom. I have learned that l/h indicator wiring is Green/red and r/h indicator is green/white. Had them in a box for 2yrs+ !! I will get pics at weekend. Annoying if they are from a certain source as throughout my build I have tried to steer clear of those parts. |

Click image to enlarge The saddest of days, my 2007 Defender 110 XS CSW has gone on the bay. Have even offered to deliver in the hope I won't have to keep seeing it around here. This forum has been a font of knowledge and a true community. From the willingness of its members to go that extra mile, or advise better use of the search function to the occasional falling out of sponsors for our entertainment. I'm sure I will continue to lurk in the shadows but really, secretly (ahem!!) hope it never goes. |

Click image to enlarge Had a serious case of Defender-envy when I saw it - it looked great in the metal! The orange has real zing without being garish IMHO. Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
