2 questions (bumperettes & brownchurch)
1. Does anybody have bumperettes fitted to the back of their PUMA? I'm looking for those that don't require any drilling? Pics would be helpful Smile

2. I would like to add a brownchurch rack to my 110, does anybody know where I can buy this (new or secondhand) in the Benelux?

They are brilliant roofracks. Brownchurch are very helpful but not open at the weekends unfortunately. Immense they'd ship though. Are there any members in Dover that could take delivery for you to pop over the Channel for?

No drilling at all but the rear of the bolts if placed outside in are blind so there is no access to put nuts and washers on. I fed fishing line through the holes and fished the bolts from the inside out using a long GS screwdriver to hold the bolt heads whilst tightening. Then put some plastic nut caps (like those on a Ford Transit wheelnuts) to cover the nuts/bolt threads! You need time and patience but worth it in the end as no butchery needed!!!

Now that might be a solution ... I just lost 2 washers and a nut on the inside of the rear crossmember ... can't reach them, and couldn't fit the bumperettes ... was thinking of making a drill to the other side and buy longer bolts to fit them, but you just gave an idea !! Mr. Green Regards

I've been looking for a aet of bumperettes for the back of my 110 SW. Having looked at the bearmach version I believe they will foul on the two bolts that are fitted near the end of the rear cross member on my SW, the safari equip and whitbread versions look almost identical so I expect will also foul the bolts.

I've seen suggestions to use washers to space the bumperettes away from the x-member to clear the bolt heads but I think that might look a little heath robinson.

Has anyone found a got a set of bumperettes fitted to a vehicle with the original bolts still in place? If so any pictures and which make are they? MY11 110 XS Station Wagon in Stornoway

I have the safari equip ones which use the original bolts through the crossmember for the outside holes, and they supply new bolts for the inner two on each side. i can post a pic if you want one.

One point re the difference between the rebel ones and the SE ones. the rebels are quite thin steel whereas the SE ones are very heavy duty 5mm steel. I really only have them to protect the lower rear quarter when offroad, its pretty vulnerable otherwise. K9 has chequerplate on his. they are dead easy to fit, there is no fishing line involved or anything like that. the only difficulty you may have is if your socket/ribe/torx fitting plus socket is quite long, then it wont fit between the back of the bumperette and the torx nut head.

by the way, you have to specify if your vehicle has mudflaps or not, as they do two types. the mudflap compatible ones have slots for the edges of the flaps

Thanks they look just what I'm after - will need to give Safari Equip a call.

However you posted earlier that the Whitbread-offroad versions were the same only cheaper and they certainly look good value at £45 - but you have the SE versions? Have you seen the whitbread versions close up - are they the same quality/strength? and do they use the same mounting points?

The bearmach versions I've seen use the two holes further out and the brackets foul the bolt heads that the SE ones on you vehicle use - it's difficult to tell which holes the whitbread ones use without a photo of them on a vehicle.

I fitted the Bearmach version, but my local independent made up 10mm thick spacers with the correct holes drilled to clear the 2 bolt heads on the rear crossmember that are used in the 90 to secure what appears to be bars used to secure the forward facing rear seats/seat belts. Didn't want to fiddle with them. The bolts and nuts are a real pain to insert and tighten, but once in place they do the business. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the replies!

Found these bumperettes a few days ago on a 90 pickup while on holiday in the Ardens. The look like BigMike's but are slightly different. Also de holes are different. Anyone an idea what make the are?
