Make sure if they are boxed that the box internal volume is correct for the speaker.
These details should be on the speaker boxes / booklets. Usually in cubic ft / litres, I usually go by cubic ft. Various calculators online to work this out, and you should try to go for the largest size recommended by manufacturer. Obviously fitting location and practicality can be an issue. |

You won't regret the Kenwood sub
I believe it's the successor to the one under the wife's seat. I own both and can confirm they are both excellent As far as mid-range goes, I have the sub in the Defender covering its full range (not just thumping) and the sound is great. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Steve et all,
Quick question! I think! My install which I hope to complete in a few weeks if I can get 5 minutes to myself from my kids! NAK head unit which has 2 sets of pre outs and 1 Sub woofer pre out. Up front the normal Focal 100 KRS and tweeters in the stock position . Then I have a set of Focal 165 KP and tweeter behind the rear seat but in front of the rear passengers which I want to make customised fibre glass pods. I was then going to customise my cubby box to sit a 8 inch sub on the rear of it with separate dedicated sub amp. Power - from a genesis profile 4 amp which will sit under the cubby box which I intend to raise slightly anyway so its the correct height. I appear to have a spare set of Focal 100 KRS now as I bought a second hand set which didn't have the tweeter housing thinking I could easily get a new tweeter housing, I was wrong they are actually quite hard to get. So I ordered a new set. Anyways as I have a spare set I was wondering about a 6 speaker set up. ie putting the spare 100 KRS in the stock position at the back? I may be wrong but this would need either 3 amps ie 2 normal and 1 dedicated subwoofer or 2 amps 1 being bridged taking a set of speakers and sub. but this has given me a problem with the number of pre-out puts from the HU any thoughts or suggestions Hope this makes some sense |

You could just wire the 100 KRS in together, ok you wont have the fader function, but as infil and being matching size/model they will play the same anyway

Out of interest what sub are you thinking about ??? I looking at doing the same with my new one. Transfering the old double 10" box will take up too much room in the back, now I need seats Going to struggle to get a 10" in the cubby. I like the JL 8W7 AE-3, but a tad expensive and maybe a bit OTT ! I've herd the 8W3v-4 in the dedicated JL box, but does struggle a bit with the real lows. I am considering the Alpine SWR 8D2, but the required enclosure is a bit big, and details a bit vague |

You could either use an RCA splitter or look into the specs of your Amps as to if the have pre-outs in and out or just in.
If they have both like mine does you can 'daisy' chain them which would keep things more simple to set up. (And control) Have a look here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40...p;_sacat=0 You are probably best with a dedicated output for your Sub Amp and maybe link or split the other feeds instead as you want good control of the bass. If you do make some fibreglass pods be sure to put a photo up here it'd be great to see, think they'd need to be fairly heavyweight / well constructed in the Defender to be effective but depends on fitting location of course. |

Jim - A 10" is possib,e when I looked into the enclosure specs enforce but the cubby would need to be custom built and bet made pretty much as wide as you can fit and longer too.
That'd leave you with top or front face as mounting options only. I stuck to an 8" as it just looks right and the cubby is only a touch larger. (Longer I hade mine a touch only.) I've found it much better since Dynamat fitted underneath. You need good fixings as it's only an acess plate underneat that dissipates the bass rather than into the body. |

Steve Told you to Dynamat Think going 10" will make the cubbuy too oversized, and it wont look stock/stealth !
On a separate note though be fitting some 5" focals in the front of the new 90 this weekend !! We'll soon find out if they fit !!! |
