These maybe of interest to those of you who want a 10cm direct swap from the OE LR speakers:

Would these replace both the ones under the front dash and the ones at the back, or just the dash? Cheers John. Currently....... all gone...... pending delivery of a mid life crisis....... Previously..... Quite a few! I really am a sucker for them! |

@mk1collector I'm afraid I don't I just remember seeing a td5 disco and it stuck out that it had a odd sized stereo. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I wouldn't investigate the Disco 2 theory any further.
The head unit in the ones with Harmon/kardon is actually a single DIN machine, with a larger angled facia to integrate with the dash. You could remove them and slide a normal head unit straight in. Sorry to disappoint! John. Currently....... all gone...... pending delivery of a mid life crisis....... Previously..... Quite a few! I really am a sucker for them! |

Steve - are these significantly lower spec http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/kfc-e1052-speakers ... for £7 less than those you've listed ? ... not saying that I'd get them ! As and aside I was interested in maybe getting some tweeters for the top of the dash ... do they need to be wired in to someform of crossover unit that to split the frequencies ? ... does that come out of the speaker cable connectors at the back of teh head unit ? Finally I like the little powered Alpine/Kenwood sub units ... how do they wire in to the head unit ? cheers Jon |

What head unit do you have? Secondly with the speakers here's the list: http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/shop-online.aspx/10cm-speakers
Prices go up really by quality and power. So obviously the £39 ones at 140w will be better than the 110w ones in sound quality and probably build quality. The one's priced at £39 are the newer versions of mine with the same power 140w. 5 - way speaker with rubber cone woofer. wiring in an amp/ sub depends on what you buy really but it's not difficult. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

Do these make that much difference to the standard speakers? I'm considering changing the fronts and fitting an active sub. Darren |

Yes, Clearer more crisp and can take higher volumes without distortion. A type of sub will also help with the lows which you won't really get from a 10cm speaker âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

Currently an OEM from a Puma as I wanted the aux input for my TomTom cradle ... however am looking at a new head unit to buy - like the look of the Parrot Asteroid but also wanted DAB for Planet Rock - so that's either a unit with DAB built-in or add on a Pure Highway or 3000 ... |

That's not true, it all depends on the enclosure. I get door rattling bass from my two REL Stratas and they're 60w 10" drivers. |

10" or 10cm? I'm only talking speakers in the dash and rear so how does any kind of 'enclosure' come into it?
*EDIT* Also there is currently some good offers on at Halfords right now on Sony head units AFAIK so maybe worth a look for those of you that are looking for upgrades? âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |
