Getting a new waxoyl undercoat today with my friend Jean-Louis, going to get the winter tyres out and check them for stones, nails etc and perhaps a beer later (me, not the car and not in the car!)
tomorrow, going into the mountains to check the waxoyl does not fall off ... going to make THE decision about the LED headlamps ... SWMBO is not keen .. "You've got perfectly good headlamps .. blah blah blah " - she just doesn't understand my defender has the svx headlamps so i need to figure out how to do a side light .. any ideas ? |

Changed my transfer box from 1.4 to 1.2. Fairly big job - an hour each end just to get the floor and tunnel out. Plus I had to swap the front housing over as the 1.2 didn't have the hi/low switch that the ECU needs.
Still to finish off in the morning - going to use some whizzy additive I got from Ashcroft years ago which is supposed to reduce friction and quieten the gears. Family trip to Cornwall next month, so the increase in gearing will be very welcome. My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk 110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |
