Hello from sunny downtown Aspendale.
Yep, We had to wait 6 months for ours too, but of course, well worth it. We asked our Dealer to take pics of the pre delivery stuff, accessory fit etc, which they did,..got heaps of them. Your vehicle should also have the production broadcast sheet with it, this is the sheet that accompanies the car during its build, with all the specs on it,...see if you can get that too? Pickles. |

No worries, get in there & have some pics of yourself taken alongside the build, in the workshop etc, all good stuff for the Defender "Memorabillia File"!

Some one recently wrote that the startech steering wheel wasn't compatible with the 2015 models.

Thanks for the heads up Egoold, the vendor I purchased my from specified the year model due to a different amount of splines for the 2015 Defender so I hope everything will be ok

Great stuff. Silver Defenders are cool! Is that 'Sound Shield' on the left hand side of the picture designed to fit under the bonnet? I would love to fit some of that too but cannot find a solution that fits in the 1cm gap between the top on the Puma engine rocker cover and the bonnet!!! Many thanks, Pete :) Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Cheers Pete
Yes very happy with silver though was a hard choice. I originally wanted blue but they just stopped bringing it into the country. I swore I would never get a black vehicle again and my previous motor was red....alas the silver as the rest didn't do much for me and the fiance! And yes you are correct the sound shield is for under the bonnet. it is 15mm thick however is very easily compressed and quite soft actually. I'll be sure to let you know if there's any fitment issues and stay tuned for a first as far as sound deadening in the Defender world is concerned which I'm hoping should give a Rolls Royce like experience coupled with the traditional methods Cheers, Ant Last edited by GypsySamuraiAnt on 1st May 2015 9:44am. Cheers Ant,
Great about the sound shield. So where can I buy that please? (I am in Wollongong, South of Sydney) I am interested to hear more about your sound proofing ambitions! I looked at Blue too! But they only had the metallic 'Loire Blue' which looks good in the UK but I thought not so good in OZ. Minor bush scratches hide well with silver too! Nice to see another silver one in OZ... I like the way it looks like the true aluminium colour as well! Cheers, Pete. YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Pete that's great to hear about the silver not scratching up too badly! I was hoping that was the case.
Here is the link to the vendor I purchased the sound shield and resomat from http://trufitcarpets.com.au/ I should find out more about the delivery process today |

Yeah, I've heard of them, very well known, it's a shame they don't do carpets for the Defender.

Lovely!
Really like the white HD wheels... how did you manage that mate! See you also managed to get the Continental AT's with them as well. Good choice, they are so much quieter than the Wrangler on the road. Did you order it with the black checker plate or is that already a mod! Looking forward to seeing another Silver truck evolve on here. Bet you are excited! Cheers, Pete YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Thanks Pete
They didn't have any of the black HD steel wheels so they said they will paint the white ones for me to keep the colour scheme going. Great service from the dealership so far I have to say! As for the Conti's that's good to hear as I don't think the fiance would be a fan of a noisy tyre. The checker plate is part of the dealer protection kit mate. Also got a few other factory/dealer options but the real fun starts when the order from the Expedition Centre order arrives very soon. Can't wait! What specs did you opt for Pete? Ant.
