A known problem with LR and it can only be rectified by fitting a new gearstick as i was told the machining on pre 2009 gearsticks was way off tolerance... do not accept a grease fix as it will re-occur. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Had similar problem showing at about 10,000 miles. Gear stick vibration in 5th and 6th gear around 55 -60mph, originally only under load and after at least half an hour driving. Travelling empty takes nearly an hour to show itself. Fortunate in a way that dealer is nearly two hour drive, agreed to send mechanic out with me immediately on arrival and subsequently changed the gear stick.
This and other minor issues dealt with under warranty without fuss---- replaced mirror arm with paint just beginning to bubble, replaced rear worklight with rust appearing on mesh , couple of door screws and a propshaft to rear diff oil seal.reset steering wheel to 12 oclock, was slightly off at 3 mins to 12. Even washed the vehicle all at no charge. Top marks to LIKES LANDROVER at Brecon ( was told that nearly 50% of their sales are defenders so maybe that's why they seem to know what they are doing) Well chuffed with the service 1981 series 3 swb gone 1986 v8 110 station wagon current 2009 puma 110 xs utility station wagon latest addition |

My 2009 Defender 90 Puma gear stick vibration continues, despite THREE new replacement gears sticks. Has any one got an answer has to how to repair this??
Surely by now Land Rover would have had a recall on this or come up with some answer?? |

A grease nipple on TOP of the gear stick knob?? - confirm through the rubber knob?, and then confirm the grease runs down the length of the gear stick?? - pretty unsightly?
