Steve, it was a real pleasure to be able to catch up a bit in the Land Rover lounge. Once we split up again the place became so terribly busy that my daughter and I quickly called it a day. She spent half an hour gridlocked to bridge the last 5 meters to make it back to the JLR stand. ![]() Hope you and your better half survived, and have a safe flight back home. And, thanks for bringing me these beauties down here from mud. ![]() Eric ![]() Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. Wired up my new fusebox
![]() Bit of a faff as I hate doing wiring but should be much easier to expand my electrical ideas.

Drove it and started hearing an annoying rattle / bang drivers front side.
Me thinking the worst though maybe it was the shock top mount loose in the shocker cone top. Checked that out and it wasn't, however thought I'd look at the bonnet. It was the hinge shim banging. ![]() I can tell by the fact it's on one side and it corresponds. |

Went to MK(?) and met Simon at Urban Truck on Saturday...
![]() What a refreshingly lovely guy and what a brilliant professional outfit they have there... ![]() Only downside was not having a Keswick GREEN truck available ... ![]() ![]() The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Fitted Gwyn Lewis front mudshield to my 90 remarkably easy to do and two fingers to LR who should have sorted that problem out years ago......
On the downside noticed a area of rust on the chassis (on a 5 month old truck)where the paint had lifted ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Has anybody fitted the Gwyn Lewis mud shield to the rear of a 90?I was looking at the area today and thought that they may hide more than they protect! |

I also fitted the front gywn Lewis kit very early on. Since the release of the rear kit I have had a look at the rear of the 90 and also feel they will hide and trap more crud than they protect.
At least being open and protected with dinitrol you can get a hose in to rinse. |

A new rear half shaft came by courier at 10.30 this morning, fitted by 10.45. I do love these easy fixes, I had just pushed it too far at Tuff Terrains a couple of Sundays ago and the hub end got a little chewed by a part worn drive flange. A new drive flange got me out of trouble but with a noticeable twist at the diff end it was best changed and the last few days it has been slipping an odd tooth at the hub end when turning left. The amount of backlash that has disappeared is unbelievable so a win win job.
