Great tip! I always lower mine when leaving the vehicle unattended to prevent some scrote from vandalising it, subsequently the top two sections are worn and will no longer stay up for long, may have to look at a replacement myself soon! Did you fit a standard replacement or go for something a little more robust?

Probably because not all defenders have "side" windows (where the aerials are usually mounted). Front screen would probably limit vision; wind up door windows would probably break the cable eventually. I reckon the only decent panel that would do, would be the alpine roof glass, but not all rovers have these. |

90% of the time I drive around with the aerial down and get a good radioreception. Only on long trips or in rural area's I pull it up.
