It's been some time since I've done that job but does the shaft have an internal thread in it that you can put a bolt in and pull the shaft out ? I think shaggy dog had a similar problem a week or so back and took out the opposite shaft and pushed a length of copper pipe through to push the shaft out !

Yep, I had a bolt in the thread and a slide hammer on it and it didn't budge! Would be a right pain in the arse to strip the other side down to push this one out, and what then if the other side did the same apon reassembly??? Something I could try if all else fails! Why is it the simplest jobs turn out to be the most problematic?

How about removing flange and shaft and assembling them together then put the shaft back in with the flange already on it ? 2005 Td5 90 XS

Take it you might know this but normally screw a bolt in the centre then just pull out by hand , you want need a slide hammer normally ( well i never have anyway
Cant remember if the thrust washer for the cv has a wrong or right way round , some washers have a tapered inner |

Are you absolutely sure that the hub assembly is back on the stub axle correctly? If for some reason the hub isn't seating correctly (ie it hasn't gone on far enough) - for example if the outer race of the inner bearing isn't properly installed - you would have this problem. I can't immediately think of any other reason.

just take the hub off and try and pull it out, if still wont come take stub axle off and check seating in back.
Sometimes they get pushed in on assembly and dont come back out until it is stripped again, just keep hold of it on the 2nd assembly. probably nothing fitted wrong, its just been stubourn. Cheers James 110 2010 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I'm guessing with the other half of the ramp setup that's still holding the wheel just at the right of the picture

use the other pair of colum lifts ( you can just see the other one with the wheel still on it ) lift on the wheel then lower on to stands then remove the wheels

I assume they're not new drive members? (The earlier thicker ones vs the later thin ones?)
