Doing the set on eBay now, worth taking a look, make sure it's the right one though

Thought I would have a look at my spring and see if this mod had been done not having anything to compare it too and found this ... ... any thoughts?

It's not been done ! The spring you see there is the one you take off and throw away. 2005 Td5 90 XS

This really is a great mod. Got the bits yesterday (genuine LR) and fitted them today. Nice handy 5 minute job. My only regret is not doing it sooner!!

Finally got around to doing my modification and it makes a real difference. its straight forward but I made a small change which made it easier still.
To make the spring slide into the bushes I spent five minutes with a file and just put a small chamfer on both ends of the spring and then it slid into place but be warned its tough on the wrists and you need a decent pair of long nose pliers !! Worth the effort... oh yes ! |

Am I missing somthing. Mine has the original spring as the photo above but can't see why I want to change anything ?

if it has a long spring then the modified spring makes the pedal much softer and the action is very smooth

I done mine ages ago and I gotta say I don't think there is a huge difference, I'm constantly driving mine with mod and brothers with out mod and there ain't much in it

Porky - interesting, I have done the mod on mine (see earlier in this thread) and regularly drive my uncle's without the mod. I notice a significant difference every time. I would say my pedal feels about 50% lighter. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I did mine a good while ago now, drove one without mod earlier in year and thought it was a pure pig of a clutch.
Funny thing is before I did mod clutch didn't bother me but couldn't live with one without mod now. |
