Its interesting the numbers seem allocated then or is it just the last ones? A customer of mine must be one of the ones you want to knock off as has his deposit down for the second from last with the last one not being sold.
He has a fair old collection though and used to work for land rover from what he said. Defender puma dormobile camper

I think they'll make them around the interest received and it will be something similar to the SVX
He did say that they will make them first then release the following year.
He also thought a lot of people will get the first ltd edition which will be launched in the next year thinking that's the one to have.
I would like a super duper one like the 50th if there's one coming.
Speculation is a wonderful thing and for me working six days a week placing a deposit on the unknown has really cheered me up no end.
I don't care about the dealers and new models.
I just love our Defenders Thumbs Up

I just really want one of the last ones if there special.
If just a blinged up jobbie I'll have my deposit back.
I dealt with a really decent chap called James.
I do have to say that Cardiff are slowly sorting there act out with regards to customer service as I seem to be treated like a customer these days. It has taken three defender purchases Laughing
By the time the ltd edition comes out I'm hoping to be able to keep my 110 and get a last edition 90 to polish on Sundays.
I've already started saving (don't tell the wife )

Yeah they are sorting them selves out I also have a deposit there did it about 3 month ago

I have to be honest if something doesn't pop it's head up soon in the Defender world I can see me going to the dark side I have had my 90 since 2007 and apart from a new reg what's differences have there been in 7 years jack Censored apart from a smaller engine it's pathetic

I've said it many pages ago in this thread, if there will be a last version, it will be purely cosmetic... And then Land Rover will have to go out of their way, and dig very very deep in their designer talent box, to come up with something which would come even close to the below. Whistle Cool

Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Unless I’m missing something, isn’t this just a shiny standard truck with some bolt-ons? In other words, exactly what prospective owners of “the last real Land Rover” DON’T want?

Just ordered my new 110 HCAP pickup for a December delivery.
Dealer said they have been told no more pickups of any sort after March.

Also asked about new Defender. I forget the exact words, but were told the new chassis design did not allow for the chassis only options and so it is back to the drawing board, as these bespoke options are still desired.

Hi Simon

You should take a trip to the factory and have a look at what can be done, Jon Chester and the team are really accommodating !! Thumbs Up 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

From the horse's mouth:

"special run-out editions of the Defender, identifying the broad conceptual space between the Camel Trophy and Paris-Dakar as interesting ground for such a vehicle.

Land Rover will use 2015 as a celebration of its outgoing Defender. Edwards was adamant that the car’s owners would not be forgotten about in the years to come and highlighted the opportunities to engage with its fan base via the heritage wing of the new division. "

^^Very unlikely. As of 01-01-2015 the Euro 6 norm will come in force for all passenger cars. I guess Land Rover have found some loophole for the Defender allowing them an extra year or so, but surely some time in 2016 at the latest it will become impossible anywhere in the EU to still register a new car which does not meet Euro 6 norms. I doubt that Land Rover will (be able to) go to the extreme to further refine the Defender emissions from the current Euro 5.....

Unless they secretly have a 2.0 or 1.8 liter Duratorq engine with a Selective Catalytic Reduction and/or AdBlue tucked away somewhere for that purpose. Shocked Don't think so. Laughing
