Talking of 5 litre engines and throwing lots of kit at it, this made me chuckle:
http://sniffpetrol.com/2014/07/16/new-range-topping-range-rover/ especially: "Land Rover admits that fitting a Range Rover with solid wooden pews, a stone floor and an enormous gothic belltower has added a few kilos but insists that it still weighs less than a Discovery" |

Last Defender should be the most deluxe ever. No just a paint job. Soft top option (all options!) available for the UK. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

My opinion (if I were asked by LR!):
90 SW only (sorry) 'Different' engine Automatic box Colour that's not available on other Defenders Goodies (like rear camera etc.) Luxurious seats Wheels (big enough!) that are unique Big tyres to suit Tinted windows 10-year warranty Now left. |

Well, I wouldn't be shocked at that price. Surprised, but not shocked. But surely to justify that price it would have to defy Pickles, ericvv, and blackwolf, and be something rather special. Just tarting up a 90CSW wouldn't do, as it could be copied too easily by the aftermarket squad. It's going to be another year before we know. Now left.

Although I'm a sceptic on this I do look forward to being proved completely wrong! It would be nice if the end of an epoch was marked by something truly spectacular.

I'll take this one Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

A back-to-basics final edition would be nice. Back to its roots. I don't suppose it would sell as well as a suped-up blingy version though. |

oh my first post. hello.
peeps are right about the last editions being cosmetic. cost, tooling, type approval all being reasons. from previous experience the last editions will be in limited numbers nomrally 2 per dealer when you look at xtech and svx. my recent "info" has been on the defender replacement that came down from one of the designers though a mate via a chum who spoke to this man who read on a wall that replacement is about 6'8 high and current working on an V10 desiel..... if this is correct i will of course repost this as my first post in about 2 years. |

Just put my deposit down for the final ltd edition jobbie if it happens and was told they think there will be a ltd edition launched quite soon and another that will be launched in 2016 although they will of been already made and the numbers of said motor could be ltd to one per dealer
I'm down for the last of the last with the option of the first of the first but am fourth in line for the last of the last Just need to bump the other three off. |

Yep!
Cardiff I just really want one of the last ones if there special. If just a blinged up jobbie I'll have my deposit back. I dealt with a really decent chap called James. I do have to say that Cardiff are slowly sorting there act out with regards to customer service as I seem to be treated like a customer these days. It has taken three defender purchases By the time the ltd edition comes out I'm hoping to be able to keep my 110 and get a last edition 90 to polish on Sundays. I've already started saving (don't tell the wife ) |
