Well I've finally taken the plung and spent a shed load of money on the last avaliable black defender 110 on the production line for a september deliver....

The only problem is my mind has gone into over drive deciding on what mods to make.

With 2 disco's and 1 defender under my belt I'm already conversed with how cheap these monsters can be.

The good news is there is already several ŁK set aside for tinkering.

First on the agenda will be prep for my first overlanding trip to morocco next summer.

Great stuff I to have a Black USW, when you pick it up be sure to check the door alignment out. I had to re-align all my doors so they were flush with the body. I know I should of got LR to do it but I also dont like waiting in reception areas Thumbs Up

PS I know Guy Salmon Stockport already have 2 black USW in stock right now, one has been there a bit so you may get a better deal than waiting for yours to be built. 1964 Series IIA SWB Truck Cab - gone

The standard Defender is more then capable of a trip to Morocco on decent tyres, with decent recovery points, a decent bit of string etc. Especially so if you are going in a group

Just remember there is a big difference between needs and wants

Talk to people and find the vehicles which are slightly worst for wear etc from travelling. Some people are surprised when I say about our red 110 overland vehicle that there is a lot of gear on it that I would NOT recommend for the average traveller.

For instance front and rear winches, rear ARB locker, long range tanks, big water tanks etc are not needed for the average traveller in convoy. However if you are doing long trips as a solo vehicle in remote places then you may well consider that you need that level of preparation.

If you want that level of preparation and can afford it, then so be it!

Good luck with your vehicle and your planned trip

Cheers for the heads up but I'm happy to wait for mine to be built as it will be the first vehical I have bought from brand new to my spec and it will come with a '60' Reg which will Censored me brother off. Ha ha

I agree there is the want and need factor.

So far my list of modifications only goes a far as under protection, snorkel, storage draw, oh and I know a guy that will tint my windows for me but with a balistict film (not that I intend to get shot at but it will make the glass harder to break through).

Other than that as I will be going with a group I'm gonna go for recovery points only at the minute a winch can wait, standard suspention and the woman thinks we need a roof tent (I like the idea of it too).

I'm gonna see what I bargins I can find at billing next month.

Russ, If you are going to Billing, come and find us and have a good look at our red 110 overland vehicle (28 different countries) and our black 09 Ute which we are prepping up. Might give you some ideas/food for thought. Join us for a beer and a chat come evening time.

Just had a phone call from the dealer to update me on the delivery date.
First then the order was put through the date was the 20th of september but yesterday the delivery date was the 17th of july???

I Still want to wait until september to pick it up.

I've never known a dealer that works at 19:30 at night.
