Just uploded the photo's I took yesterday when I inspected the vehicle in my gallary.
The is one issue with the vehicle which no of you will be able to spot.... The boys in the workshop put the wrong number plate on! Correct plate has now bee fitted. I would also like to say how impressed I am with the service I have recieved from Morrisons of Stirling and it was nice to see the Gordon (the salesman) had as bigger grin on his face as mine because he'd delivered. p.s. how do you load photo's onto threads?? |

Looks great! I am impressed with those tyres too.
However, what would it look like with a white roof? I toyed with getting mine wrapped black with a white roof (whole car is silver). Cheers Harvey |

Rus,
Somewhere on this forum you were talking with someone about the Southdown axle guards (the wide things that go across the whole underside and also act as a diff' guard). The only other issue I can see with them (which others may say is no a problem), is that the diff guard part could dig into the ground if you get into problems and try to reverse backwards. I know this form experience with trying to reverse Freelanders out of trouble only to find the tank guard or front suspension crossmember/subframe act as a plough and can actually make extraction rearwards impossible, forcing you to then have to try and go forwards, which for me was ok as a local farmer saw my peril and decided to come over and have a look with his 101FC. So how can you tell for definite what model year you have? Is it denoted in the VIN or on the V5? Proud owner 110 Utility XS

I see your point this could be a potential issue, I'll have to look into it further. |

Not sure but a good question, I'll have to look into this to double check. I think I was just caught up in the joy of looking at my new defender, so didn't ask. I will get back to you on that. |

BTW so as not to on your NEW bonfire I wouldn't be bothered if it turns out to be a MY10 rather than a MY11 build to be honest. The difference really is negligible. You have a BRAND spanking NEW truck that was for sure assembled by the goblins at Land rover in the last few weeks. My reason for asking was that I took delivery of mine on July 30th and was just intrigued to know if there was a way of telling what the MY status is. Proud owner 110 Utility XS

I believe that the VIN No. has a designation 'A' in it for MY10 and a 'B' for MY11. I'm guessing that the AT tyres meant that it is an MY11?
Nice whatever, very clean! No the other left . . . |

Yeah the new tyres are a sign of the MY but hey they could just be 11MY wheels on a 10MY but really they won't last long on the vehicle. |

Yeah I am over the moon with the new vehicle and I can't wait to pick it up. If it is a 10MY I will be a little but the question is how long would it take to get an 11MY to my spec??? and what are they gonna give me off for trying to sell me a 11MY if it infact a 10MY??? I don't think I could be bothered to wait. |

I haver finally picked up the truck, so far so good. Haven't driven it much since picking it up yesterday (only got 34 miles on the clock).
I've been a little busy getting engaged at long last... (only took 8 years)!!!! |

Lovely looking truck - congrats
Apart from the tyres, what other differences are there then between a 10MY and an 11MY? Thanks in advance Simon '11 Defender 110XS Utility SW '07 Discovery 3 HSE '58 Porsche 356A (not good off road) '59 Lambretta (not good on or off road!) |
