It's not clear from this document whether you have to fit snow tyres for travelling thru Sweden but the first para read ...
Winter tyres If you are travelling to or through Sweden with a vehicle such as a passenger car or heavy truck, you need to make sure the tyres on your vehicle are right. During the winter, the following rules apply: http://www.transportstyrelsen.se/winter-tyres I can't see any exception for foreign registered vehicles ... |

Morning Steve.... I don't think there are any exceptions.... If you are travelling to or through Sweden .......These requirements apply to both light and heavy vehicles, as well as for vehicles registered in Sweden and abroad. Interestingly I spend quite a bit of time in France and in the UK the minimum tread depth is 1.6mm. In France the minimum tread depth appears to be the same as in Sweden 3mm. With a company car it can be very difficult getting tyre changes authorised when you still have more than 1.6mm remaining. You can still get done for it abroad if less than 3mm.... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

No not seen that. I had read early this year about a new ferry route being set up but not kept an interest to see if it followed through.

We have been waiting for the new ferry since 2008, so donīt hold your breath.
There is the trucker ferry from Imingham to Breivik or Goteborg but its not you regular ferry, its a boat that carries trucks and passengers... DFDS Tor-lines. Ther Superspeed from Hirsthals to Larvik or Kristiansand are OK, we played on the beach at Hirsthals before heading home in June. take sand tracks if you go alone on the beach... not telling why....
