Got it all sorted out very equably Land Rover Customer Care were Superb! The Main Dealership ( Croydon ) were also very efficient. However, they are being a little reticent about sorting out the mis-fitted, near-side , Wing Top Protector. It wouldn't really bother me but, as its touching, it is eating into the Bonnet paintwork. Should be alright if I can prove the Chequer-Plate was fitted pre-Delivery ( which it was ). Land Rover Customer Care are "interested" & watching what happens here as it looks like a classic "Friday Car" error. All that remains is to say a huge Thanks too all involved. Especially too a chap called Tom who kindly Towed me into Oxford Services from the hard shoulder - a credit to all Defender owners. |

I want one! The baby cheetah that is, have a LR already
Since posting last, 2 months ago, my baby "Bambi" has passed her MoT without hitch, had 2 x Light Force 170s fitted together with LF wiring replacing the OE. I also have a switch so I can have full beam with the extra 2 switched off (combi filters are 75% wide & 25% spot I've found, going to try some home mods). LF lamps have more protruding connectors etc at the back so looks like I'll have to cut bits of the grille slats out to make room for more swivel downward. Just done 20,000th mile since bought. Bought Bearmach noise reducing mats which work OK dulling higher pitched whines & squeaks. Winch still works but not been used yet. Wretched Goodwinch bars over the drum rusted from underneath, the cheap Chinese chrome has flaked off & now the bars drip rusty water on the steel cable, be worse if I had bought GW's pretty blue rope! Can you get stainless replacements? I was disappointed that a supposedly quality firm like GW would not realise the poor quality of Chinese bling & change it for more durable practical longevity. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy.
