Those fuel cooler pipes are surprisingly expensive if damaged, will leave you stranded too if they get damaged and leak.

Its found up the side of the engine now last time i checked, there prone to damage down below so a fuel cooler guard is a very good idea. even on 2.2's were the fuel cooler is up higher you can still fit the guards to protect the fuel lines CSK Automotive

Straight from D4x4 website about their cooler guard;
"The 2.2 Tdci Defender does not have a fuel cooler but does have a exposed oil pipe where the 2.4's cooler would be fitted. We are fitting these guards to 2.2's to protect the oil pipe for damage as you can see in the images." Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

i had one of these guards on the shelf in the wksp for ages. was debating whether to fit it or not.
then my fuel lines were ripped out of the cooler whilst crossing some brush.............. typical its was soon fitted with the new pipes.... (2.4 10MY) Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Well mine's definitely a MY13, 2.2 and DPF and does have a fuel cooler fitted. So if a change was made it must have been made after a certain VIN number. |
