Sometimes when driving along the light goes on and off intermittently. And flickers now and again even when fully released? Any ideas? Anyone had this before? 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir, the warning light is also a low fluid warning light.

are sure it's to do with handbrake and not brake fluid level , worth checking that first

I have the same on my TD5. If I push the handbrake lever down the light goes off.
My guess is, Its either a badly aligned switch or I need a spring to pull the lever down. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

My 2001 TD5 Hard Top has ABS/TC...it was an option. Re: the light coming on, I'd check the switch on the handbrake as a prime contender. cheers simon |

Turn your ignition to position II, the ABS warning light will come on if you have it. It wasn't me! |

take it you have checked the brake fluid level
if the level is ok . check that the float in the brake is floating and not sinking , not uncommon for the float to get fluid inside it stopping it from floating completely and putting the light sometimes take float out and have a look at it you can normally just see if there is fluid in it |

seems you have traction control and a diesel filter water sensor too
mine has a water sensor but it's not plugged into anything |

Yes, that's my 2002 reg 110. The build date on mine was January 2002 and first registered on May 1st the same year. Although it hasn't got electric windows and trimmed out in farmer trim it had ABS/TC fitted from the factory.
