285/75x16 on a 7J wheel, your choice boys, should be fitted on an 8J.

In mitigation I did manage to find a similar vehicle with some 10Js.....

Sorry to bring this 285/75/16 debate up again.... but I found this on the http://www.procomp.com.au/ site claiming a 7inch rim is the minimum required rim size for there 285/75/16 all terrain...... so does any other tyre manufactures claim this as a minimum....

Don't know about that but I have always believed that for 285's it is a minimum of 8". But as others have said they run them on narrower wheels without any problem. Me I use 8.5". I personally would not want to go any wider because of the potential for wheel bearing wear.
