I'm also using Castrol Magnatec A1 5w30.
However, friend of mine is using Shell Helix HX7, and will switch to Shell Helix Diesel Ultra when it becomes available in South Africa in December. He supplies the oil to the stealer when it's due for a service, and they use it, but there is no agreement on what this means for the warranty. |

I have found another oil which conforms to the Ford specs: Fuchs TITAN XTR 5W-30 (http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-991-fuchs-tita...e-oil.aspx) and another Fuchs one: Fuchs TITAN Supersyn F 5w-30 (http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68918-fuchs-ti...-a5b5.aspx)
The Opie oil website gives all the oils that conform to the Ford spec WSS-M2C 913-B: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-698-wss-m2c-913-b.aspx#Filter=[Sort=1*ava=0] And it looks like we should all be using WSS-M2C 913-C oils instead of the B spec, as per http://oilspecifications.org/ford.php:

That is the oil that most LR stealers use, and according to the marketing blurb, was co-developed by Ford & Castrol for the Duratorque engines. |

So will Castrol Edge 0W30 work okay?
That's what I use in the 335d so would be handy if the same oil works for both! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

What exactly is "drastically"? My economy dropped from 10l/100km to 12.75l/100km (28mpg to 23mpg). Do you think that this could be caused by using 5W40 oil? Bergos LR Defender 110 HT 2007 (2.4 Puma) https://www.facebook.com/LR.Wanderlust/ |
