Got 80K on my TD5, hopefully many more to come, just run a little 2 stroke oil in with each full tank to keep him running smooth A Defender... Mans best friend, never judges, trustworthy (most of the time), go anywhere, do anything, looks the business, and mans biggest money pit!!!
Yes the name for my 90 is Derrick! |

Mine have now 150.000 miles..... terrible manteinance, really hitted in crashes and by cargo, all kind of terrain, terrible fuel, driven as hard as i can (my city is full of potholes), off road every week for work.... have had all kind of troubles with roller bearings due to bad manteinance and continuous wading in salt water. Engine however is running really fine, now in it's second turbo. Consumption is not bad at all, 25 MPG (uk gal) using air conditioned all the time...

this is a great subject, it makes me feel confident there's plenty of life still in my Td5, 221,000 and still going strong. I'm a newby so; hello

236,000 today. Still pulls like a train.
Needs the gearbox spigot bush or clutch release bearing sorting out - it's waking the neighbours Also needs new brake pads and disks replacing as well... ...trying to think of what else needs doing - nope... So that's it until it gets a service at 240,000. The moon here we come - not bad for one of those unreliable TD5s... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |
