Actually yesterday, weather being sunny and dry, took the afternoon off and treated the Defender to a longer than usual spin all the way from home to Morges, VD, and back. Which as some here on the forum know each way is about 70km. The better part of this at 120 kmh on the highway, which my SVX does not often get as a treat, since bulk of my driving is home-office on max 60kmh or less roads. So the CAT got a good blow thru, which is something recently discussed at length here.
The SVX behaved like a gem , but I was reminded that my Nokian winter tires at speeds above 100kmh are bit more noisy than my summer GG TRs. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Left Johannesburg at 6 yesterday evening and travelled the 320 odd kms into the night to Clarens to celebrate our anniversary. Clarens is a little village in the mountains of the Eastern Free State here in SA. (If any of you ever visit SA be sure to include Clarens on your itinerary - it is lovely).
Just me and my wife with 3 dogs and luggage in the back of my 90. Went like a dream, engine just purred along, spots and extra beams worked well. Three and a half hours reminding me how much I enjoy my Defender and that, even though great in town, so at home in the country and the dirt. Defenders rock! Got new tyres fitted to the rear of my 90. Went for BF Goodrich AT in 235/85/16. In the end the General Grabber TR's that were replaced had done 72000 miles in 7 years and were roughly 90% worn. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it. The road less travelled.... is a muddy one! |

Went for a wee run out the back of Dunning today, testing out a windscreen camera mount for my Drift HD 170

Washed down my 110 with my two sons.. (Used a sponge rather than the children). A 'helpful' 6 and 4 year old means I may be washing it again today. Loved it though, out and about with the family. Totally what we purchased our money pit/car for. 94 Defender 110 Wagon

cleaned the green 110, took the spacers off and re-fitted the satin boosts and MTRs, we're not going to get any snow this year (famous last words), also picked up a cubby tray from a forum member, astonished how well made they are and found another NATO hitch
I like the standard look |

Relayed the headlights, so we'll see if there's a difference when it gets dark
