I'm ok I have lockable flush bonnet pins The main reason for me fitting them TBH was to get rid of the silly plastic insert Regards Les |

I'd lime to know this as well. Do they stop the bonnet being tilted back and then lifted straight out? |

Yes, you would need tools to remove the bonnet, so it slows the villains down and makes your neighbour's Defender an easier target. It is also easy enough to make it very hard to remove these hinges - use one (or more) shear nut to secure each hinge to the bonnet, and use a shear nut and socket head cap screw with Loctite to attach the hinge to the bulkhead. Then glue a ball-bearing in the socket of the capscrew. |

Re-attached my newly powder coated side steps using nice, shiny stainless nuts and bolts to my recently dinitrolled chassis, proving that my OCD is alive and well
I did, however, run out of rivets to re-attach the rubber treads Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

today i righted a few oddities first off was the traditional land rover wonky steering wheel, which is now slightly less wonky but towrads the O/S now instead. love land rover quirks !
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge then i found the tweeter that was pushed into the dash by the 9ft logs mother in law had me collect. at which point i saw the opportunity to claim "see i told you a land rover made sense" to which silence was my reply Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge then i broke into the dash board to refit the cable that had unclipped itself from the recirculate switch for the fans, the cable had become rather bent which caused it to pop off. so straitened it up with my man hands and sorted ! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge a good day however i want to re hang every single door as each of them have there own special quirks, any one got any tips? also on 110 CSW does any one else get splashed in the face when you close the rear passenger doors in and after teh rain ? |

Been cleaning the chassis up all afternoon. Damned hard work but got to be done. In better condition than I though but that's a good thing! Better to underseal early than too late.

Bolted the mud flaps back on today. Again, newly powder coated and using stainless fixings:
Click image to enlarge You can just make out the neoprene isolating pad between the bracket and underside of the rear wing. There's another on the inside too, which together serve to introduce a degree of flexibility. This is to prevent the work hardening of the wing lip that leads to fracturing of the aluminium.
