It,s probably coming in where the windscreen meets the bulkhead the foam strip in between two degrades and lets water in.
Try covering this join with gaffer tape and then running the hose over it to see if it still leaks. If it does,nt then you can seal the join with some type of silicon sealant. I also keep the gap clear between the windscreen hinge bottom and the gutter under the screen this lets the water run out of the sides of the gutter and not overflowing and running down the bulkhead. Hope tis makes sense ! 2005 Td5 90 XS Steve |

It was the foam seal with me.
I masked off above and below the seal and then siliconed over it, ran a thumb over it and took the tape off straight away. I needed to do the whole width of the seal as otherwise you still have a vulnerable area which can then allow water inside. That water can then manifest some way from the entry point (via the channel below the windscreen) and be very confusing. Masking tape as a test is a good idea. |

If its only just started and you've recently had the windscreen rubber replaced I'd be looking there first

Was the windscreen seal sealed on fitment and did whoever carried out the job clear the crud build up first?
See this thread in particular the first two posts on page 2. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic447-15.html And this thread mine and Fekete's postings on pages 1 & 2. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic2126.html If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Don't use silicon sealant, you may struggle to paint anything again, even the fumes given off will contaminate paintwork over a frighteningly large area, use a proper mastic, Tiger seal, Sikaflex, etc.

I would recommend Sikaflex, I did the joint on the roof of my 110 no more wet right knee of soaked carpets. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

You do not want to use Sikaflex on your windscreen seal. Should you ever require the windscreen out or seal subsequently replaced it will be an absolute nightmare. Google is your friend.....
Sikaflex 291i is a marine grade polyurethane based sealant which in my view is one of the best you can buy. If you have water leaks search the net for: "Defender Water Ingress" Service Rectification Processes.
I found the manual on another Landy Site It is a manual showing where most of the leaks come from and the Land Rover rectification procedure. I had a leak into the front footwell and traced it to the hinge area. Rapid application of Sikaflex stopped the leak. Sika flex works well. My Defender is black as was Sikaflex but take care to avoid covering your paintwork! About to use the manual again to stop my rear load speaker (Internal!) rusting up for the third time! LOCHSCAPE |

Any caravan dealer's spares/accessories shop will stock Sikaflex. Until recently most caravans were held together with it. |
