SWMBO and her friend were student nurses at St Mary's Hospital in London. My friend and myself, both 3rd year medical students, decided to ask them out. Fortunately there was no conflict over which one we each fancied. I asked mine out , he chickened out. This was in 1971. I invited her out for coffee. She didn't believe me, but that was all I could afford as I was the only student in our year with my own car. We went to the self service cafe in the Festival Hall. Must have had some effect on her. 5 children latter, 3 Land Rovers plus other assorted vehicles, we celebrated our 40th anniversary this year. Now she has her favourite car, a Mazda MX5 hard top covertable and I've got my 2010my 90 XS with Bas tune. She loves her car but whenever we go on long trips/touring the continent etc then we always take the Defender, and she seems to enjoy it. Mind you she has never driven the Defender, but then I have never driven the Mazda. Each to his/her own. LANDYWATCH

I had the same problem but studying at Barts - thank God "my nurse" was already earning... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Always fancied my sister-in-law, then she left her husband. Golden! Best looking GF I've ever had. Married her and 31 years later she still is good looking. Wife bought me a Puma too. Strange thing is, my ex and wife e-mail each other every day. Best of friends they are. Odd world?

We met at a local pub. Nearly 20 years later and having bought my S2A which she described as a heap of **** we went on a LR experience day at Luton Hoo 3 years ago and she got the bug. Wife now has a FL2 and can't wait for the next LR experience day this August. Still won't ride in the S2A though! 1970 Series 2A 88"

Better than having that spark pass between you on a walk in the park, there's a time and a place for a taser

She was working for my biggest customer - a good one at that!
Took me ages to pluck up the courage to ask her if she fancied a beer, I thought I'd possibly lose a customer or gain a GF, I couldn't have been happier when she said yes, eventually she left where she was working because it was horrendous, came and worked for me instead, her old boss wasn't too chuffed so I lost a contract in the end anyway!! It was well worth it, never looked back, love her to bits. |
