Working in hospital gardens as a student when I was 19 - saw her through the window wearing her nurse's uniform and.......
I was a kept man for several years. Shame I had to find a job eventually Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Many years ago at work during a summer like this, 197? , we worked shifts, I drove the works car and she was the observer. A few years later after we were married we took up caravaning and had an MG Montego, took it in for a service and walked out with a Range Rover that she had fallen in love with after being persuaded to test drive it, a few years later she wanted a 2.5 90 land rover to get to work in the bad weather I was not allowed to drive it, she then changed it for 300 series 90. I have got rid of my Argyle Disco so that she can have 2008 plate USW 110 which I sometimes get to drive but always get to do any work on. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

I had just pulled into a pub carpark in my SWB Series III and my SWMBO to be walked over, tapped on the window and introduced herself, things sort of took off from there Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I met mine when I interviewed her for the job as County Secratary at Young Farmers when I was County Chairman. They say that relaptionships in YFC situations don't last but it did take 18 years before circumstances took over, we're still the best of friends. When she started in the job I was off skiing and she was allready smitten by what she could find out about me, I had a double barrelled name, I was off a big farm, I drove a Land Rover and used to ride to hounds. Give her her due she still was interested in me when the reality of my life became apparent, my double barrelled name was due to my mother remarrying and me keeping my fathers name, I was a spray operator/stockman/agricultural mechanic for a big farming company, I had just bought my first 110 pickup, it was a site vehicle from Taylor Woodrow and had been used and abused on the Channel tunnel and as for hunting, my manager and I used to take it in turns to take an old nag that we kept on the farm for shepherding purposes and as you could gaurentee the hounds to cross over some of our land we'd allways claim farmers rates when the secratary approached!
