Connected up the supply from the light today to test all is fine. Then.... oh dear no voltage... Earth fine but quickly noticed a short as the 1A fuse had blown. Really glad I fitted that! Very Happy Did a little fault finding work and narrowd the short down to the NS area. Removed the cable a little to check and sure enough the live had shorted by a very minor cut into the cable caused by fitting the dash back on and tightening. Despite my best efforts and checking as I fitted so that this wouldn't happen! Sorted it out and re-fitted checked everything again and tested and all is perfect now.

Just goes to show how useful and important correct fusing is. Especially if something goes slightly wrong. Embarassed ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Although my camera doesn't pick up the light quality and colour very well at night. Big Cry Big Cry ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I'm very pleased with it. Also all functions match the interior lighting and functions. Un-lock it and it comes on / open a door. Auto dimming. You get the picture all the interior functions are matched.

Thumbs Up ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Did some testing whist I fitted it all just to check everything is present and correct. Just as well I did as you can see from the door handle LED's with parallel wiring and series.
And that I added an in-line fuse as I blew it as the cable got pinched up by the headlining once. (despite being careful) Rolling Eyes All in all really happy though.
I still have a couple more subtle ideas for it though but won't be making it like a Christmas tree!
Testing results:

well I also did this mod with white LED's i connected them via the ALARM and door connectors .
I took switching power off from the roof liner light.

The weird thing about that light is that is Negative switched ! So there is always 12v + there.
So I ran a cable from there with the switched 12 - and put them on the 12v - of the LED strips. and ran a cable from the battery to the strips with constant 12v +

Now my footwel area are lighted when I : Unlock and open the doors. I can manually turn them on with the roof liner light switch . They also use the Condensator's dimming , and it looks stunning.

Im thinking about doing the same thing as you , but with white LED's in doors . and they have to be realy dim , not distracting. Im only afraid to pull my door out Discovery 4 SDV6 Landmark

The door cards aren't much to worry about believe me. Just be firm but gentle once you've taken one of the second is easy as pie. It's easiest if you have a general trim tool to do it with though. And yes, the interior lighting system is indeed a little different and isn't something to be messed with without knowing exactly what your doing and how your going to use it.
You could also use the system for "puddle" lights if they are LED and under the power consumption threshold. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Fitted these little beauties today:

SMD LED's this time instead of the rubbish regular type I had before. I want happy with their output, I found the footwell light strips were far brighter than the actual interior lights.
The last regular dome type LED's I'll ever have, SMD's all the way, much brighter!
There is white available too if anyone is interested, at least I think there is.

Looks great mate well done. Those SMD led bulbs are a big improvement over the older style. I have a white one in my number plate light and it's been in for 2 years and going strong! 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

Dan - I'm glad you say that because I bought some SMD number plate bulbs which are due to arrive Monday probably. What I like is that the light is spread and not directed to a point.
Thank-you for the compliments, it took a lot of head scratching fiddling and testing. Laughing wouldn't be without now especially the footwell strips.
