and now wondering if they shouldn't be fitted opposite Big Cry

Front ones are opposite that is clear, but my MB has the back ones as above, anyone an idea if the MB has them wrong or what is the theory behind it?

I'm going to put an Anderson connector in mine, I'd be interested to see how you do it, I've seen a 'through bulkhead' bracket that P & P do and wondered if that would work on one of these

Well AP quote the following:

"Most AP Racing Brake Discs feature Curved Vanes. The brake discs are handed and should be installed with the cooling vanes running back from the inside to outside diameters in the direction of rotation as indicated in the sketch. "

On solid disks it is pretty much upto you. Differnt companies say different things- this is an argument that comes up on performance car forums as much as tires come up on this one and everyone has their own opinion on it.

The way you have them fitted is better for clearing all the brake dust/ dirt out the slotted grooves. where the other way will encourage the brake dust/ dirt to go to the centre of the hub and build up. The other way round will help it bite though- it will increase braking force with less effort (but stress the disks more).

A bit swings and roundabouts really- both have pros and cons, just depends on what you want them to do.

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 HCPU Stornoway Grey
Bolted on / wired up winch bumper and winch. Both courtesy of my cats. Had put the stuff in basket and went to "check out" to see what the total would be ... with shipping I figured it to be a bit too much ... then had to take a toilet break. Cats walked over keyboard whilst I was gone and "ordered" the stuff Shocked . Got invoice in email a couple of days later ... was going to cancel but wife said to go ahead and transfer the money. Razz Thumbs Up

The week before that I got around to bolting on the spare wheel carrier (the only one I could find for a HCPU) I got from Front Runner in South Africa. Great company to deal with.

Now have to find a solution for the corner ... Had to remove the rope hook to accommodate the top support ... bit of a mess on that corner with all the ropes at the moment .

On the doors, I presume you remove the factory 'foam' liner then Dynamat then Dynalina, is that right ?

I did inner of the door (rear of door skin) with Dynamat then Dinitrol. Dynamat in place of the factory gasket (they got binned) then 1/8" Dynaliner over the top, doors now have solid clunk when they shut. Very Happy

I am going to use 1/2" Dynaliner on the roof bulkhead and 1/4" on the floor.

Chad on here lives nearby with a new 2.2 130 and we are going to see what difference the Dynamat has made once I have finished mine.

Still got floor, seat box, front doors, bulkhead, and any uncovered areas underneath vehicle to do.
